If your son or daughter has an interest in singing and wants to take lessons, it is very important to support them. I can’t tell you how many times I have met parents who are skeptical of a young person’s potential as a singer and performer. Remember, the skills that your son or daughter is learning go far beyond singing alone. Musical training has been proven to enhance concentration, discipline, self-esteem, higher brain function, not to mention emotional health.
All parents want their children to be successful. Consider singing lessons as you would soccor, baseball, scouting, or summer camp. If your child has an interest in singing remember . . . . its what they WANT to do . That means they are going to work at it and spend time practicing. Encourage them and support their effort. . . . .even if it hurts your ears! 🙂
